The Best Things In Life Are Free
Evie was comparing fabric samples for potential designs for the coronation which was only a week away. Mal had said something about going to raid the kitchen for a midnight snack. She had asked if she wanted anything but Evie was avoiding all fats and only eating fluids. She was going to look her best at the coronation.
She jumped when she heard a repeated knock on the window behind her and she turned quickly to see Jay crouched on the balcony and she had an expression of a glare mixed with a pout. She stood before going and opened the window, allowing him to climb inside,
"You need to learn not to sneak around so much" she said before folding her arms unimpressed and Jay smirked before mimicking her actions,
"You need to learn to eat more" he said before making a pear appear as if by magic. Jay was a boy of many talents. Evie raised an eyebrow as she held an expression of amusement,
"A pear?" she asked and Jay winked,
"Well I know you don't like apples" he teased and she rolled her eyes,
"Did you steal this?" she asked as she took it in her hand gently before holding her hand up accusingly and Jay held up his hands in defence with a charming smile,
"It's better than paying for it" he teased and Evie rolled her eyes in amusement once more,
"Only you would think that" she said and he smirked before taking a step forward before smiling charmingly,
"Some of the best things in life are free" he whispered before stealing a kiss and Evie gasped in shock but before she could respond he just laughed before winking once more and ran out of the room and Evie stood there with a shocked expression before raising her fingertips to her lips before smiling softly as her cheeks turned a soft shade of pink.
