She just couldn't understand it.
Gates had met thousands of cops, civilians, and government workers in her years in Internal Affairs but none of them were like Castle. He seemed to go out of his way to come up with ridiculous ideas and theories for cases that were obviously not what happened.
The first time she met him Gates was determined to get the man out of her department but thanks to the major she ended up stuck with him. He was not a cop and Gates felt like his participation in the cases was harmful to the cops that were around him.
It didn't help that Beckett and her team was fighting for Castle to stay ether. For some reason they seemed to think he was help, though Gates couldn't figure out how that could be possible.
But after he helped catch the "comic book hero" Gates had to admit that he did…..
No. Castle was a distraction to everyone and he had to go.
