Disclaimer: I don't own the characters and canon circumstances of The Legend of Zelda series.
Claimer: This drabble will only be posted on FanFiction (dot) net, and my fic journal on Live Journal.
A/N: Again, this isn't all that new. I did do a tiny bit of re-touch, though (enough to fix some mistakes but keep the writing style I had back then), so I hope that you like :-)

Moonlit Tears
by Space Demented

She looked up at the sky, wishing with all her heart that she could go back a mere five minutes ago and pause time. She could still feel his arms wrapped around her…his cerulean eyes emotionally locked with her own sapphire ones…his lips drowning all conscious thought away from her. Every second seemed to last a lifetime whenever he was around, and now that he was gone, she felt so hollow…so…incomplete.

Her eyelids closed, trying to hold back the last remaining tears within her. She brought the last piece of him she had left, The Ocarina of Time, to her lips and began playing the strains of a mournfully familiar song. Everything within her wished that the song could somehow bring him back, but she knew better. Just remembering or simply dreaming of being in his arms won't make the thoughts become reality. He was gone. Whether he lived or died…it was all the same. He wasn't coming back.

The threatening tears soon found their way out of her closed eyes and slowly ran down her cheeks, the moonlight making the liquid trails on her face shimmer. She stood up, suddenly, from that lonely moldy log he left her on. She looked up at the sky and saw him, knowing in her heart that he was doing the same thing at the exact same moment. Once again, she could feel his warm embrace, urging her to live on...to forget about him.

"That I will, my love. That I will..."

With that, Princess Zelda slowly made her way back to Hyrule Castle.
