The first time they kissed was in their second year. They were alone on the Quidditch pitch and the sky was threatening rain. Fred made a rude remark about how distracted George had been today at practice, and George playfully shoved him. Fred pushed back, and soon the two were rolling on the ground, laughing and wrestling to gain the dominant position over the other. Fred finally ended it by pinning George's arms above his head.
Sometime between the first shove and the end of the fighting it had began to storm. The twins were covered in mud and laughing so hard they could hardly breathe. The lightening flashed as Fred looked down at George. His body was restrained, his breathing was erratic, and his eyes were burning with something more than just the enjoyment of a tussle in the mud. Fred couldn't help himself. He leaned in to wipe some mud from his twin's cheek, his warm breath ghosting across George's lips; at that moment George leaned up to meet him.
Their mouths met with the uncertainty that every boy feels during their first kiss: were they doing it right; was the other enjoying it; was it supposed to feel like this? Though tentative at first Fred grew bolder as the kiss progressed. Shockwaves were coursing through his body. The tingling reached from the top of his head to the tips of his toes. This must be what ekeltricity is, George thought as the shockwaves began in his own body. The lightening flashed once more in the sky, and reminded them of where they were. Fred stood up, and offered his hand to his brother, and together they had walked back to the castle.
That kiss had been far from perfect, noses had bumped each other, teeth had clashed, and George's breath hadn't been the best, but of all the kisses they've shared in the last five years, that will always be the one that both recall when they are separated at night; that kiss is what keeps them warm when the other is absent, and that kiss will always be the first kiss.
