Daniel stood in the rain looking down at the polished coffin that sat in the ground. That was it, it was over and she was one with the earth.

"Daniel, come on. Let's go." Sam said as she put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm ok, just go." Daniel said as Sam sighed. "Daniel, please you'll catch a death of a cold out here." Sam said as she tried to move Daniel. "Sam, please." Daniel said as he looked back at sam with tears in his eyes. Sam sighed and left Daniel to grieve.

Daniel looked back to the coffin as his tears mixed with the rain water on his face. "Fate has been cruel to you," Daniel begun, "it has taken you from me, far from me." Daniel said as he sat on the ground in front of the grave. He looked up at the tomb stone which stood strong against the rain.

"I've seen you at your best and worst. I held you when you cried and needed love. I gave you the love that you deserved from a man. I did all I could to make you happy." Daniel said as he closed his eyes, "I remember all the times that I would wake up in our bed, you would still be asleep. You looked so peaceful in your own dreamland. I would watch you sleep until the sound of your breathing and heart beat lulled me back sleep." Daniel said as he looked up to the gray stormy sky.

"I don't know what I'm going to do know that you're gone. You took my heart with you. I will always love you, no matter what. Love doesn't stop at death. You take love with you and you hold the love you have inside your heart and never let go." Daniel said as he got up from the ground.

Suddenly a light breeze blew the wet leaves into the air, "My arms are around you, you hold me in your heart…….and I love you." The wind whispered as it caressed Daniel's face. Daniel closed his eyes and sighed, "Janet, you're with me always. I love you." Daniel said as he opened his eyes and saw Janet's ghostly form standing next to her grave.

Daniel was speechless as Janet walked up to him. She ran her hands through his hair and over his face, trying to save every one of Daniel's features in her mind, "It will be a while till we will be reunited my dear Daniel. You will be an old man when you come to me." Janet said as she fixed Daniel's glasses on his face. "My love will never die for you." Janet said as she looked up, "I'll be watching over you babe." Janet said as she turned away from Daniel and looked to her grave, "I'll be seeing you." Janet said as she stepped into the grave and disappeared.

Daniel sighed as he turned and left, "See ya." Daniel said over his shoulder to the grave.

Daniel sighed at the memory as he got up from his rocking chair and grabbed his cane. He is well over the age of 95.

He hobbled over to the window and saw the snow lightly falling. He, then, turned around and headed to bed.

He walked into his bedroom and lay down. He ran his hand through his gray hair as he sighed and closed his eyes.

Suddenly pain wrapped around his heart as he gripped at his chest. "Shh, Daniel….it will be over soon." He heard someone whisper to him as the darkness he had feared for so long swallowed him whole.

Daniel opened his eyes as looked around. It was very bright where he was standing. He ran his hands over his body and felt that he was younger.

He, then, felt a hand on his back. "Janet?" Daniel asked as he turned around to see the face he had been waiting to see all his life. "Welcome home daniel." Janet said as she took daniel by the hand and lead him the place of eternal light.
