Naruto was like a disease. A highly contagious disease that infected anyone who had close contact with him. Although the symptoms varied depending on who was infected, they were never exactly negative.
He taught Sasuke (though for a short time) that there was more to life than his brother. That some things were more important then being an avenger, then obtaining power. That it was okay not to be thinking about murdering his brother, and how weak he was the day his clan died. That maybe for a short time it was okay to live.
He showed Neji that fate wasn't written in stone, that your destiny isn't predetermined at birth. He showed the Hyuuga that sometimes gumption and hard work, was the key to obtaining almost anything.
He helped Hinata change for the better. He helped her finally stand up for herself, and that made her a better person for it. It helped her become a very powerful kunoichi.
He helped Gaara learn how to love. He showed the vessel that there was more to life than killing, and that there were plenty of other ways to feel alive. He showed Gaara that his life had more purpose beyond just killing everyone. He helped Gaara learn how to truly be alive.
So yeah, Naruto was a lot like a disease, though it was obvious he did more good than harm. Maybe that was why no one had tried to find a cure just yet?
A/N: Something that just popped in my head, while I was watching the chuunin exam saga for Naruto. Hopefully this isn't as bad as I think it is.
