On the table sat the glass, with a drop of red wine left and Albus felt dizzy when he looked up and saw that Scorpius' cheeks were flush red and his lips were rather pink.
"This wine is rather—" Hiccup "—wonderful, don't you agree?"
Albus nodded, his mind swirling from the consumption of alcohol and from the return of Score's patrician drawl that only came when he was either really tired, or apparently, when drunk.
"Maybe…" Albus paused. "We shouldn't have broken into your dad's liquor. I don't think being even more intoxicated around you is good."
Merlin, he hadn't meant to say that last sentence out loud! Stupid mouth, Albus thought. Score blinked at him and swayed when he came around the table and practically sat onAlbus.
"Al," Score whispered, smiling dangerously. "I think it's perfect. I think you're perfect."
Perhaps it was the wine that made him do it, but it could also have been the fact that Albus had been in love with his best friend for years—and now that they were celebrating Score's 16th birthday, maybe it was time…
