John Watson meets Ironman

Morgan Allayne

Just a story where John does his job. It doesn't change anything in either storyline.

a/n: because there needed to be a story like this. I mean seriously, they were both in Afghanistan but no one's done a story about them meeting there yet. Come on people. I do know that this story feels a little incomplete, but it's done and that's final.

John Watson was just doing his job. Tony Stark was brought to him right after he was found wandering the desert, and John just did what needed to be done. He cleaned and bandaged what scratches needed it, he checked over the ARC reactor to see if it damaged more then it looked like it did, and he made sure that Tony stayed in bed for the twenty minutes he wanted to be out and about before he finally fell asleep. He didn't even tell Tony 'I told you so' when he woke up.

Tony, for his part, never forgot the army doctor that made sure he was kept safe at night and let Rhodey sleep in the chair next to his bed, holding his hand the whole night. When he thanked him, John just said "just doing my job, sir." And went on patrol. Tony never learned the doctor's name, never had contact with him again, but every time Tony told the papers "just doing my job," he knew that he was being thanked.
