The night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all the Gods were sleeping

Not a sound was made, not even Demeter weeping.

It was just another day, or so everyone thought,

But one person snuck off the mountain, hoping not to get caught. .

The man was jolly, and full of great cheer

Grabbing his things, including his deer.

He went down the mountain, ready to spread joy

He had gizmos and gadgets and every great toy.

Down he went, at lighting fast speed

Ready to deliver to those who were in need.

Away he went, faster and faster

On Comet, on Dixon, on Blitzen, and Dasher.

They obeyed his command, for they could not disobey

Because they wanted to give the people, a magnificent display.

As they got close to the ground,

They suddenly stopped, for they heard a terrible sound.

Out of the ocean a man did appear,

"What are you doing with the Godly Reindeer?"

"Ah dear Poseidon, it's me Santa Clause,

And I'm in a great hurry, no time for me to pause"

"Oh so it's Santa, I should have guessed,

Only you could cause me such a great mess"

"A mess you say? I did no such thing,

I just left, as it was an order from our king"

"Then why does water fall from the sky?

It's frozen and white and, ouch my eye!"

Santa laughed, as Poseidon grew angry,

He grabbed his trident, now starting to get cranky.

"Why it's only snow!" Santa did yell

"Then why does it cause me such a great He-"

"Watch your language, Poseidon my boy,

Too much violence, and you'll not get a toy."

"Enough of your games, I want it gone!

Not a single flake left, not even one!"

Wind started to blow, from every direction

And the snow with it, in amazing perfection.

"But it's Christmas dear brother! It can snow if I please it,

Don't try to fight me, or you'll only regret it."

Poseidon threw down his three pronged spear,

The loud noise scared all the reindeer.

Santa took a few steps back, as the noise made a loud SMACK.

All of his hairs stood up, even the ones on his back

But Santa knew he had to fight,

So he raised his hands, and got ready to smite.

Poseidon threw his water, and Santa his snow

The two were powerful, this they both know.

The two clashed their awesome powers

Neither one backed down, neither one was a coward.

Soon after they clashed, the wind started to blow

It stopped Poseidon's water, and aided Santa's snow

The snow was swirling at vicious speeds,

And Poseidon went down, falling to his knees.

"Why must we fight, Poseidon my brother?

We're supposed to care, and love each other."

The snow fell from the sky, and looked like sparkly glitter

Thus something was born, the very first blizzard.
