Yesterday I took a trip to Belle Isle with some friends, I'm sure most people haven't heard of this place, it's a small island located in the upper James River near Richmond Virginia. A long bridge suspended underneath an overpass leads to Belle Isle. On the island there are several different trails through the woods. I randomly took one and eventually I ended up at the rocky part of the river. I had quite a good time, climbing over the rocks and running all over the woods. I felt like I did when I was a child, spending as much time as possible outside among the serene beauty of nature. I have a great appreciation for the love and care that God put into the design of His Creation. How can there be any doubt that there is a Designer when there is such a perfect design? The warmth of the sun, the gentle breeze, the bright shades of orange and gold of autumn leaves, the peaceful sound of water running over the smooth rocks… It's been a long time since I've written any poetry, but I felt inspired…

In the simple stillness of a warm autumn day
Without saying a word, I feel my soul pray
All of Nature declares His love and truth
I have no doubt of His goodness, beauty is proof
The blue sky above, the green Earth below
The peaceful sound as the waters flow
It's beyond anything I can understand
I stand in awe of the works of His hand
It's a miracle, I know, the perfection of it all
I see His love in everything, large and small
All He did was speak, and this world was made
All He did was die, and our debt was paid

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge." Psalm 19:1-2
