A/N : OK this is ridiculously short but I felt like posting it. I have a vague plot but I may leave it as a one off…

I stared at the back of her head. Thick black hair stuck up in all directions. I saw the tiny silver clasp of her necklace, slightly off centre. I had never seen the pendant, for she kept it inside her collar. I wondered what she felt the need to hide.

My eyes focussed and I turned back to Harry, who was next to me. I smiled.

"It's so crazy about Cho," he was saying. I blinked.

"Cho? Oh right… the baby."

"Yeah. I can't believe she'd go through with it…"

I listened to him go on, smiling out of the window at the soft, grey rain.

Cho.

Harry ended up coming home with me. We went up to my room, and I opened a bottle of wine. I sat on the floor, leaving him the only chair. I lit up and he frowned.

"Oh, come on Harry. I'm addicted."

He raised he eyebrows but left it at that.

"You seen her lately?" he asked, looking at his wine. "Cho?"

"Yes, I went over yesterday."

Harry shifted.

"She OK?"

I got up, laughing.

"It's not a chronic illness, Harry. She's fine," I paused. "Happy."

Jack nodded. He took a sip of wine.

I sat down again by the window, staring out. The silence settled. We knew each other too well to talk much.

"I miss her."

I inhaled. I didn't look round.

"Go see her, then.

He drained his glass, and I heard him get to his feet.

"Harry…?"

"Bye, Hermione."

The door opened and closed. I heard his footsteps down the hall, down the stairs. I sat at the window and let the tears come.
