So I decided to carry on writing about the interns, I've already done Vincent, and here is the lovely Wendell. This is based on why Wendell ended up in juvie, as mentioned in the episode Fire in the Ice.
I own nothing, I just play with the ideas of Hart Hanson, who is god in my eyes, enjoy.
Do you want the truth or something beautiful?
Wendell Bray was a well-rounded young man, despite growing up on 'the streets' he did not conform to the typical norms of a young lad his age. Except for once, or so he had everyone believe.
The monday at school following his weekend in juvie was met by an inquisitorial bunch of lads, who normally didn't have the time of day for Wendell, but with the news that he had been locked up for the weekend making him a potential recruitment, they were intrigued to see what they boy had to offer. Wendell had never appeared to fit any type of 'click' whilst at school, he enjoyed learning, science in particular and always did well in education, however in contrast he was an athlete. The group of lads who approached him that day, were known as the 'troublemakers' and Wendell may not have wanted to be in their gang, but he also didn't want any of their hassle.
"Oi Bray" Wendell sighed to himself, he's had a rough weekend and wasn't in the mood for their crap. "What did a square like you do to end up in juvie?"
Wendell ran his hand through his hair, pausing to decide whether or not to share his story, finally making a decision; he shoved his hands into his pockets and began recalling his story. "Well, it all started Friday..." The lads all gathered around as Wendell explained that he had encountered a fight over the weekend, the story was accompanied by ferocious hand gestures and gory details, the tale portrayed Wendell as an animal, who beat the other guy to a pulp, "the police said I was too much of a threat, so they locked me up…" By the end of his tale, the lads were all grinning from ear to ear; they had discovered a new found respect for Wendell.
"Catch you later guys." Wendell practically skipped away, with the knowledge that the lads would not be giving him any grief in the near future, he'd also discovered he had quite a knack for improvisation and drama.
That night, whilst Wendell was studying hard in his bedroom, there was a knock on the door as his sister Holly walked in, she was a year younger then Wendell but had the classic Bray characteristics blonde hair and blue eyes. She and Wendell had always been close, he would do anything for her, in fact he often did.
"Hey, im guessing mum and dad are still mad?" she questioned, sitting on his bed with her legs swinging over the edge. "Yeah, but it was worth it." He smiled. "Im so sorry." Although Wendell had described a fight he had been in, he had failed to mention that he had only thrown one punch, with the majority of the other guy's injuries being a result of his sister's actions. Holly had discovered her boyfriend cheating, and as they fought in the street someone called the police, the young girl was petrified but her big brother swooped in to save the day, "Holly, I'll say it was me, its fine, don't worry" he soothed. His story was backed up by the rather embarrassed victim, who'd rather lie then admit he was beaten up by a girl.
"What are big brothers for?" He chuckled.
