The Session
Ryan enters the room. He seated himself across from the psychologist. According to the desk, his name was Mr. Danley.
Mr. Danley sets the timer. The session begins.
"So, Ryan...do you know why you're here?" He asks.
"Yeah" Ryan breaths out the word out carelessly.
"Why?"
"Because of... because of Marissa." He answers the same way as before, only a little more steadily.
"And Marissa is...?" Mr. Danley asks.
"Marissa was..." He says the word was with great difficulty. "She was...my girl—my friend."
"Was she—was she more than a friend?"
"yes. And then. Then we made—I made, a...big...mistake." He begins to take in big breaths of air. He puts his face in his arms. He is silent for a few moments.
"Do you want to tell me what happened?" Mr. Danley asks gently.
Ryan shrugs.
"Whenever you're ready."
The room is silent for what seems like a very long time. But it is only a couple of minutes.
"When I came to Newport, she was the one I first met. She was...amazing...the best...ever." it seems like the only words he could think of now.
"I...loved...her...so...much" he breaths the words point blank out. "But then...I called her and told her that we shouldn't be together anymore. Because we came from different worlds. But we didn't. That didn't matter." He shakes his head no. Then he takes big, steady breaths again, as if willing himself not to scream in agony. "I hate myself for doing that. Its all my fault after I did that. Its my fault she died. All my fault." He falls silent.
"Why?" the psychologist says.
"Because, after I did that...she went and got together with volchok. She didn't know what to do, because I was with Saidy. Then she left, and I knew that I wanted Marissa back. But she was with him. We were just starting to get close again. Then we went to go and get rid of volchok. We gave him his money. I went to drive Marissa to the airport. I had said 'you were the first person I saw when I cam to Newport, I want to be the last person to see you leave it.' I was the last person to actually see her alive. He—volchok—followed us, he pushed the car, and all because of me, she was killed. All because of me." He stops and puts his head down on the desk. If you listen carefully, you can hear him crying. He picks his head up and leans back on the chair with his eyes closed.
"I called Seth and summer. They came. The police came and carried Marissa away. That was the last I ever saw of her. "But I know, that Seth, and summer, and sandy, and Kirsten...That they'll be there for me all the time. But I don't want to remember her anymore...I want to forget. I'm scared..." He stops again.
"Of what?" Mr. Danley observes him curiously.
"That I won't be able to love again.
He closes his eyes again. The timer goes of, but he doesn't seem to hear it.
"Can I please leave?" Ryan asks instead, his voice full of mourning.
Mr. Danley nods and watching Ryan exit the room.
Ryan doesn't need medicine or treatment, he concludes. All he needs is what he's got.
A/N: So, you like it? R AND R! I was wondering whether I should do something like this with Seth, Summer, and Marissa's sister...?
