Once upon a time there was a little girl,
Everyone said she was brave and strong,
But on the inside she felt jaded,
She moved through each day as if it were her last,
After all it could have been,
She was surrounded by others day in and day out,
But never did she feel so alone,
They say she saved them all,
But she could only think of all those that she didn't,
She was betrayed and abandoned by her father,
She didn't notice when she did the same to her little brother,
She had saved them but she couldn't save herself from the guilt,
She had left that innocent little boy to the monsters of her old world,
They changed him,
Made him hurt but she wasn't there to comfort him,
He wanted to be with her again,
But all he got in return was the cold soil being thrown over his lifeless little body,
She wanted to protect everyone only to lose something so precious,
Slowly she grew to love again but it was never the same,
She won them all their freedom,
But in war nobody ever truly wins,
