Linda walked into the ED five minutes early to make sure she was ready for her shift. She tied her hair back and sat on the sofa until the clock struck nine am. She got up and walked out and saw Zoe.

"Hey, you alright", Linda asked.

"Yeah, I've got loads of paper work to do though", Zoe replied.

"Want me to help you out? I was once running this place myself", Linda replied.

"How could anyone forget that time", Zoe joked.

Today they had an agentcy nurse joining the team for the day. Jessica had previously worked at the ED before but left after her baby son Harry passed away. She sighed as she walked in and put her scubs on.

"And I'm back", Jessica said walking out of the staff room.

Zoe and Linda walked off giggling into resus where they both treated an elderly man. Jessica watched the two friends hurt as she felt as if Linda was spending more time with Zoe. Jessica walked and sat in the staff room annoyed at how Zoe could take her husband and now her best friend. Linda walked in to get some water she drank the water as Jessica asked her a question.

"Linda, do you want to do something tonight", Jessica asked.

"Sorry, I'm going Zoe's for a pizza night. Thank you for the invite though", Linda replied.

Linda left leaving Jessica feeling a little unwanted and undervalued. She hasn't seen Linda in two years so itvwould of been nice to had done something with her old friend. She had always met up with Linda after a shift once a week since they were both training. Jessica walked out and saw Linda giggling with Zoe filling out paitient details.

"That woman", Jessica said to herself.

She walked away feeling hurt that Linda had gone off with Zoe. She knew Linda probably didn't realise what she was doing but it still hurt as Linda was meant to be her best friend. Jessica walked to get some fresh air. She stood out there for five minutes thinking to herself. She walked back in and went to the staff room where she found Linda.

"You ok", Jessica asked.

All of a sudden Linda collapsed on to Jessica as she went down protecting her friends head from any injury. She took one of her hands away and it was socked as Linda was sweating.

"Linda can you here me", Jessica asked.

There was no response so Jessica called for help. Zoe entered and started to take over with annoyed Jessica a little as she was left holding Linda's hand. Big Mac came with a trolley as Zoe and Jessica gently lifted her on the trolley. She was rushed tobresus where theybtried to find out what had happened. Zoe and Jessica ran some tests. Linda's eyes flattered open as she took off the oxygen mask.

"Zoe", Linda said.

"Im here honey", Zoe replied.

"And I am too. You know your first best friend. Oh no I forgot you ditched me for her", Jessica snapped.

Jessica walked out as Tess wanted her in her office. Jessica sat down and looked at Tess. Tess was shocked at Jessica's behaviour.

"That was no way to treat a paitient. I also thought you and Linda were friends", Tess said.

"Sorry", Jessica replied.

"It's not me you need to apologies too", Tess said.

Jessica walked into resus which was quiet expect from Linda's sobs. Jessica walked over feeling bad. She thought it was her who had made Linda upset.

"I'm so sorry", Jessica said.

"I have diabetes", Linda tearfully said.

Zoe came back in with a sandwich and a drink. She looked at Jessica and turned to comfort Linda and to make sure her friend was ok. Out of her bag she got out the equipment Linda would be needing.

"Im scared of needles", Linda said.

"Its ok", Zoe said.

"I'm sorry about tonight", Linda said.

"It's ok we'll have our pizza night another day", Zoe said.

Linda was moved to cubicles as Jessica's shift ended. She went to visit Linda before she left and saw Zoe outside.

"Make sure no one hurts her won't you", Jessica said.

Jessica walked off leaving Zoe confused.
