Killua was awoken by a chilly breeze. 'Gon probabley left the window open again.' He thought as he went to close it. Killua layed in bed for a while, not being able to sleep. He heard a sudden whimper of sorts. 'Was that Gon?' His eye's had adjusted to the darkness of the room, his only light was the moon.
Another whimper was heard. Killua decided to go see if Gon was alright. He saw Gon's figure shaking slightly from across the room. Worry filled his thoughts as he quietly made his way over to Gon's bed. He stood there for a while, just looking. Everytime Gon whimpered and moaned, Killua's heart broke even more. He couldn't stand the sound of his friend being in pain.
Killua just stood there, there was a tight pain in his chest as he didn't know what to do. 'I want to help him, but how?' Killua didn't know how he could help Gon, in this situation.
First things first, he was going to ask Gon directly. "Gon." Killua said softly, hoping to grab his friends attention. Killua got no response as he tried again. "Gon, Are you okay?" He asked, this time he had a hint of worry in his voice. The heart breaking sounds and the shaking stopped. Killua kneeled down next to the bed. "K-Killua?" Gon called softly.
Gon was under the sheets and his voice sounded painful. "Yeah, I'm right here. What's bothering you?" Killua asked as calmy as he could, he himself was ready to burst into tears over his best friends pain.
"I had a n-nightmare." Gon croaked. Killua's heart felt like it was being broken into 100 hundred pieces. "A nightmare about what?" Killua asked. Gon slowly pushed the blanket off of him and sat up in his bed. Even with all the darkness in the room, Killua was still able to see the pained expression on Gon's face. His eyes were red and still wet, it was very obvious to him that Gon was infact crying.
"I was with you, Kurapika and Leorio. We were having fun." The first part nearly made Killua smile, he regretted the urge soon enough. "Then they suddenly dissapeared. I couldn't find Kurapika and Leorio anywhere. Then you were disseapearing. It was all dark and I couldn't find you anywhere. I was all a-alone." At this point, the tears welled up in Gon's eyes and he began crying again.
Killua couldn't take anymore, he couldn't just sit there and watch Gon in pain.
Killua suddenly embraced Gon. "Gon, I'm here. It's alright now." Killua said with a soothing tone. His actions confused him, Killua didn't know why he did this, he just knew it felt right. Gon didn't seem fazed at all by the embrace. Killua sat on the bed next to Gon and held him in a tight embrace. Gon was crying on Killua as his tear's rolled off his chin and soaked Killua's shirt and shorts. "K-Killua. Don't l-leave me." Gon managed to say between sobs.
"I won't ever leave you, Gon. You're my most precious friend. I will be by your side forever." He said to soothe his best friend. Gon's sobbing began to slow as time progressed.
Gon fell alseep in Killua's embrace and Killua found himself calmed by the warmth of his best friend. He too couldn't keep his eye open.
