It was night time in the Mexican desert but instead of stillness there was a flurry of activity. Outside a little cabin on the edge of what looked like an abandoned little town a man was pacing. His blonde hair fell into his ruby eyes as he glanced between the cabin and the night sky. Those same eyes were filled with agitation and worry at the sounds coming from the cabin. Another man came up to him and spoke quietly.
"Is everything okay Major?"
"No it's not Captain. My child is about to be brought into this world."
"At least you have the chance. I would love one."
"Char would have your balls. Maria isn't happy with this."
"Think she will kill it?"
"Over my dead body." Major growled his inner demon rattling it's cage at the thought. Before he could say more screams were heard from the cabin. The Major grunted feeling the pain coming from the cabin but slowly felt the undercurrent of love coming from the child he was about to welcome into the world. Personally he didn't care for the mother but the child was his legacy.
"That bad?"
"The child seems to know that I am near by but the mother I could deal without."
"Well if it's a boy then you won't need the mother around."
"And if it's a girl?"
"Turn the mother." The Captain put his hand on his shoulder. "Things are going to work out Jasper."
Jasper nodded. "I hope so Peter."
Eventually there was silence and then a small cry was heard. Jasper rushed in pushing aside the human midwife that was brought in to deliver his child and picked up the small bundle while wrapping it in an old shirt of his. Peter stood in the doorway as Jasper quickly examined the child.
"So?"
Jasper smiled some. "A girl." He watched as she opened her eyes and felt the recognition come from the little girl in his arms at his voice. "Hello little one I am your daddy."
Peter checked over the human on the bed. "She needs to be turned Major."
"Then turn her." Jasper said as he walked outside towards his own cabin speaking low. "I promise that you are going to be safe little one." Jasper went into his cabin and sat down on his bed. "Now what to name you." Jasper searched his mind for his human memories and then smiled. "Mia." He whispered. "That's what you will be called." He pulled her to look at him. "Mia Jasmine Whitlock."
The little girl smiled before snuggling into her father's chest when he brought her close and closing her eyes. Jasper smiled as he rubbed her back immersing himself in the purity of his child's emotions. The Major and Aries both made silent pledges to protect their child at all costs.
