Kumi peeked into his room. "Shirou-chan?" There was no reply. She carefully looked into his room but he was nowhere to be found.
That's strange. She began to search for him but he did not appear. Did he go on patrol? Then, the raven realized something.
She head someone's footsteps come by. The raven glanced backwards, hoping that it would be Hijikata but saw Sougo instead.
"Sou-chan."
He gave her a puzzled look. "What is it?"
"Was Shirou-chan even in his room?"
The Sadist shrugged. "I don't think so." He began to walk away. "He's probably..."
He felt her hand grabbing his arm. Sougo looked back at the raven and saw that her eye were full of desperation and fear.
"He was never in his room to begin with, right?"

Kumi, Taiyo and Kou were running around town, asking the people if they have seen the Vice Chief but they all shook their heads.
Throughout that time, Taiyo and Kou noticed how distraught Kumi. They both wanted to reassure but they couldn't think of anything to say.
No one had any real proof if they had seen Hijikata. With that, the afternoon came around and the trio went back to the Barracks empty handed.
As they were walking back to her room, Kumi turned around and towards them. The kids couldn't help to notice how tired she looked after the whole thing.
"Can you guys leave me along for a while?"
Taiyo and Kou were taken aback. Kou tried to say something but he immediately closed his mouth as the raven gave him a look.
"Look, it's nothing personal. So please..." She entered the room without another word. Taiyo grabbed his arm as he was about to go after her. The dark haired boy looked back at the brunette with a worried gaze but she only shook her head. She dragged him towards the training room.
Kondou noticed them as they entered. He walked over to them without the usual grin on his face.
"How did it go?"
"Not great."Taiyo replied. "No one knows where he went."
"Kumi-san..." Kou couldn't finish his sentence.
The gorilla sighed as he upon the blue sky. "Kumi didn't say anything, did she?"
They both gave him a puzzled look. He chuckled as he sat down. "I'll tell a quick story."

A series of question came out from their mouths and Kondou couldn't keep them quiet. A loud BANG could be heard from where they are sitting.
"Gomen, I dropped something." Sougo said as he stood near the frighten kids while holding a sledgehammer.
The gorilla chuckled. "Oi Sougo, you did that on purpose didn't you?"
The Sadist looked at him for a brief second and looked down at the fearful kids. "To answer your questions, I got none."
The three of them sweatdropped. Why are you even here?

In Hijikata's room...
Kumi stared at the empty room before her. She walked towards Hijikata's desk and slid her fingertips across the surface. A thin layer of dust began to coat her fingers but she didn't care. What if her never comes back?
The raven continued to stare down at the desk, remembering the reports that were piled on his desk. What if we all never get to see him again? She couldn't help to remember and yet, there was nothing she can to do help wherever he is right now.
Tears streamed down her face and she began sobbing uncontrollably in the quiet air.
