Wingless Angels (てんしたち)

つばさのないあなたのせなかにみみあててつぶやく、てんごくなんていらない
(It does not matter for me whether there is God above or not for now, now I press my ear against your wingless back, hearing your breathing and heartbeats.)

おぼえたてのことばでいのる。ここにいて、わたしのそばに、はだしのままで
(Please stay here, right beside me with your feet bare...I mutter this little prayer to you awkwardly, as if it is foreign language.)

カーテンにかくれてまどにこしかける。ゆらすつまさき、だれかみつけて
(I'm sitting on the window, hiding behind the curtains, swaying my bare feet so that you may find me.)

とどかないおもたいいのりをあずかってなにもできない、ひざまづくだけ
(I can only kneel down here and bow my head, in front of you, I cannot put these heavy prayer inside of me into any words.)

かみのなをみだりにとなえてはならない。ふるいおきてにみをふるわせる
(''Take not God's name in vain.'' This old law still bind me so firmly that shivers run down my spine whenever I speak out my empty prayer.)

ひとつだけ、あとひとつだけ。いつもそれをさいごとちかいつみをかさねる
(I am continuing to commit sins endlessly, one after another, although each time I swear to myself that each one shall be the last.)

いたいつらい、くるしい、それをひとこともいわずにほほえむきみをにくんだ
(I hate your soft, beautiful smile that hide your pain, sorrow or suffering.)

このこえの、こころのつかいかたがまだわからずきみをきずつける、また。
(I hurt you, again, again I failed to use my words and mind properly.)

こみあげるかなしみ。せめていちどでも、なみだにかえることができたら
(I wish I could wash away this sorrow well up in my mind with my tears.)

かみさまのまゆのかたちをおもってみる。そのまなざしをかんじるときに
(I imagine the shape of eyebrows of God, when I feel God's eyes on me.)

ほほにふれるあなたのゆびのつめたさにうしなったそらのあおをおもった
(I imagined the blueness of sky l lost, when your cold fingertips touched my cheek.)

もうなにもおもいだせない。それでいい、ここでみあげるそらがいとしい
(I cannot remember anything anymore, and it's right, all I love is this sky above me l look up at now, from here with you.)
