"Any last words?"
Cato's glare pierced through her body, sending chills through her spine. The tip of his sword was pressed against her throat as she lay on the ground.
Her loose hair tumbled round her shoulders as she gulped.
"You can kill me, but you will die. He will kill you. You and I both know that."
Last words. Something to remember her by.
Before she had a chance to speak again, the silver weapon moved, piercing through her throat, the forest around her fading to black as her lifeless body slumped down into the dirt.
Her last words were right.
A knife, sharp as the words he spat, slashed across the back of Cato's head, sending him falling to the ground in a pool of blood.
Last words. His last words.
"Lover boy to the rescue."
He knelt next to her corpse, a single tear rolling down his cheek as he whispered.
"Goodbye Katniss."
