Title: "Nerima Freak Crew?!"
'Ranma 1/2' - 'X-Men' x-over

____GENERAL SUMMERY____
Ever wonder HOW mutant powers work? Where does Cyclops get the energy for his optic-blasts? Is Storm some kind of electric battery, or is she simply a living transformer, changing some unknown kind of energy into the lightning she throws? What is Jean Grey doing when she uses her telekinesis powers? Is she literally "moving objects with her mind", or is she too using a kind of 'base' energy to create invisible fingers of force?
We all know that Ranma Saotome is the best of the best when it comes to martial arts. We know that he uses his ki to increase his fighting ability in battle, as well as for other things, such as to throw a 'Moko Takabisha' or to use the 'Hiryu Shoten Ha'. And we also know that 'ki' is the energy generated by all living things. Seeing any parallels yet?
The "mutant threat" is spreading beyond America, and mutants are beginning to pop up in other countries. Many of these countries are buying into the anti-mutant hype and starting the deployment of 'Sentinels' to track done and 'register' mutants. Japan is among these countries, and there are many people who oppose the use of Sentinels in Japan. The people of the Nerima district are especially unhappy. However the district is largely unaffected, until...
Akane, Yuka, Sayuri, and a few of other friends end up cornered by a bunch of street punks one day after school. While Akane would normally just bash their heads together and be done with it, today she is feeling... hot... and angry. The punks demand pocket cash from the girls while menacing them with a few baseball bats. When Yuka resists, one of the punks hits her aside with his bat, and Akane completely loses her temper. Her eyes start glowing red and the punks' bats burst into flame. They scatter, yelling "Run! It's a mutant FREAK!". Akane's friends look at her with a kind of awe, but she mistakes the look for fear and disgust and runs off, desperate to figure out what is happening to her. Eventually she decides to talk to Cologne, but before she could get to the Nekohanten, Ranma intercepts her. He heard what happened from Sayuri and Yuka, and wants Akane to demonstrate what she did. After a few false starts, Akane manages to keep a small fire dancing on her palm. Ranma just stares at it, realizing that he can FEEL the fire, almost the same way he can feel a ki-blast!
Ranma now knows that a "mutant power" is really just instinctive manipulation of ki, and he begins to duplicate any mutant powers he can (starting with Akane's "pyrokinesis"). His activities attract Sentinels to Nerima, and eventually the eyes of Professor Xavier of America. The Wrecking Crew quickly gets caught in the now-global mutant war.
[Possibilities include: the X-Men showing up and Ranma duplicating some of their powers (specifically Iceman's ice powers, since ice/cold fits Ranma so well ^_^ ); other members of the Wrecking Crew developing mutant powers (still want Ranma with Akane - after all, "fire & ice" is a very effective combination); some major X-Men enemy showing up to recruit and getting his/her/its ass kicked back to wherever he/she/it came from by Ranma/Akane pair.]
