It's silly, it's pointless, it's short, and it's a little late... but at least I wrote it.

/kind of a drabble I guess

Jack Darby was no stranger to bad situations; anything that could possibly go wrong went wrong, that has just been how his luck was. Frankly, it would be more of a surprise if something good happened for a change. However, never, in his seventeen years of living, had he ever been in such an awkward, embarrassing, and horrifying situation.

"Vince," Jack said, turning to look at the other boy, "Remind me how this happened?"

"Coach made us clean 'cause you were causin' trouble, and accidentally locked us in." He replied.

"That's not what I- hey! Don't blame me, you're the one who started it!" Jack objected.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say."

"And don't just dismiss me either!"

Vince didn't bother to reply, which only aggravated Jack more.

Rude.

"Hey, since we're sitting around," The redhead shoved his right hand into the pocket of his khaki shorts and pulled out a small red box with a ribbon tied around it, "want some chocolate?"

Jack eyed the redhead doubtfully. Chocolate?

"Oh come on," The taller boy rolled his eyes, "it's not like... poisoned or anything, dumbass, I'm not evil." To prove his point, Vince removed the lid and popped one of the sweets into his mouth.

Still slightly hesitant, Jack took one of the candies and bit into it. It was actually pretty good. "Where'd you get these?"

"It's Valentine's Day, remember?" He said, taking another chocolate.

The raven-haired teen knit his eyebrows. He didn't recall ever hearing about a girlfriend, and besides what girl would want to date Vince? He flirted with pretty much everyone! "Your girlfriend made these?"

Vince snorted. "I don't have a girlfriend, Jack. One of my fangirls made them."

The raven-haired teen snickered. "You have fangirls?"

The ginger sharply exhaled through his nose, a small smirk forming on his lips. "Sounds weird when you say it like that. Yeah, I have fangirls."

"Interesting." Jack said. Sounds a bit more believable; Most of the girls here are easily swayed, and Vince isn't too bad looking either. Shit! He did not just think that!

As if reading his thoughts, the redhead added, "Honestly though, they're kind of annoying."

Jack arched an eyebrow."Really? I'd think a playboy like you would love the attention."

"Hey! Don't take my chocolate, then call me names!" Narrowing his eyes halfheartedly Vince protectively held the box out of Jack's reach. "It's annoying 'cause..." He sighed, "sometimes I wish everyone would just go to hell."

The smaller boy had to force down a laugh. Where did that come from?

"Everyone here is so boring," he continued, "I have friends, and they're cool, I guess, but they never want to do anything. Sometimes I just wish I could run away and do something exciting for a change, you know?"

"Honestly, I don't." Jack said. "I'd rather live a boring but safer life than a dangerous, exciting life."

"That's what everyone says. It's not like I want to just go and fucking... like, jump out of a plane with a plastic bag, I just want to do something."

Frowning slightly Jack ran his fingers through his short raven locks, combing through the occasional tangle. Until now he had honestly never thought of Vince as a unique individual; he'd always simply seen him as a rude, stereotypical teenager, which was one of the reasons he disliked him. Now, however, he felt slightly intrigued.

"I guess I must sound really silly to you, huh?"

Jack smiled. "You always sound really silly to me, honestly."

Vince grinned. "Sorry, I guess?"

The raven-haired teen hummed. Vince was still annoying, but maybe he wasn't quite as dense as Jack had previously imagined. "Nah."
