Tak...Tak...Tak...Tak….Tak….

"What the freak, man! It's 4:30 in the freak mothering a.m.!"

"Tenten, it's 6:45! Don't tell me you unplugged your alarm clock again!"

But the brunette was no longer listening. The instant she learned the true time she had bolted out of her bed. Clothes flew haphazardly from a pile of clothes on the floor, where Tenten was trying to find something to wear that wouldn't giver hera heat stroke under the blazing Konoha sun.

With the cleanest smelling pair of cargo shorts pulled over her boxers and a Green Day t shirt from her last birthday pulled hastily over her head, Tenten dashed to the tiny bathroom across the hall. Taking her toothbrush from a cup on the miniscule sink, she squirted minty toothpaste straight into her mouth and started brushing with aggression seen only when she was haggling over the prices of weapons at pawn shops.

"I can't believe you almost slept in on the first day of school.

Oh, so Lee had let himself in.

That bastard.

"Yeah, yeah. Good thing I've got you outside, chucking ROCKS at my window. You know you could just ring the doorbell," Tenten exclaimed, pulling her long, unruly hair into their signature buns.

"Tenten, the last time I did that you nearly did miss the first day of school. Anyways, it's very unyouthful of you to be getting up so late. The morning air is so refreshing and you're missing out," the bushy-browed teen lectured.

"Lee, I don't remember when 6:45 was considered a late time to get up. 'Sides, the only reason I'm up this early is because of that godforsaken bus ride," huffed Tenten.

Which was true. Tenten and Lee lived on the far outskirts of Konohagakure, so the drive to and from school made up a grand total of three mind numbing hours of bratty kids running down the aisle and no wifi.

After Tenten locked the door with her house key that dangled on a braided chain of ribbons, she and Lee started running to the bus stop per Lee's request. Well, by now it was basically tradition, ritual, whatever. After years of being Lee's friend, Tenten had gotten used to everything being turned into some grueling exercise. Tenten was pretty athletic herself, being on the school's track team and soccer team, but she didn't hold a scented candle to Lee in that department.

They arrived at the bus stop, panting, and saw big, bright lights turning the corner. The large, eyesore-yellow vehicle screeched to a stop and the metal doors flung open. The dark haired teens hauled up the steps and walked to the back of the bus to find a seat that hadn't been recently vomited on. The bus had already started moving before Tenten threw her bag under a seat, plopping down. She expected Lee to follow suit, but he kept walking back, with an even more excited air about him than before, if that was even possible.

Tenten craned her neck around only to groan when she got a glimpse of bright pink hair poking up from the seat.

'Sakura,' she thought "What'll be her excuse this time?'

But to her surprise the green eyed youth smiled and then Lee sat down.

For years, Sakura had been rejecting her friend to kindle a one-sided crush for a certain Uchiha. Tenten wasn't upset that Sakura wasn't in a full blown relationship with Lee, no. She just didn't think she could bear to see one of her closest friend's face after talking to the girl.

Tenten yawned and realizing that now she would have a chatter free houw and a half, she decided to use that to her full advantage. Freaking glorious SLEEP! Leaning her face on the cool glass, the brown eyes closed and she quickly fell back to sleep.
