Chapter One (I know it's kinda short, hey, it's 12 AM, what do you expect? ;)
The story opens into beautiful Hyrule field, with Epona running freely, everything calm, and Link being... well, Link. At this point in time, he's married to Malon, and helps run the ranch ever since Talon passed on. They love each other to pieces, and just discovered Malon's pregnant.
"Mmmmm, cucoo eggs are the best! Want some bacon with that, dear?" Link asked Malon. Ever since they heard the news, he's actually been doing something around the farm. "No thanks dear, I don't wanna put on any more weight!" Malon stated, pointing to herself. We know that she's always had a tiny figure, so there was really nothing to worry about, but she was just being cautious. "Okay. More for me!"
Now that was usually how a morning would start, over in Lon Lon Ranch. Link being nice, then pigging out, and Malon missing out on some really good bacon. Their day was pretty ordinary... if you consider our Hyrulian hero gardening.
"Malon... I don't get the purpose of this..." Link said, holding up the hoe. "What do you do with it?"
"You... hoe things!" Malon went over to him, and showed him how to do it. "Ohhh, I get it! Thanks hun " he said, and proceeded to do that. At least he knew how to do the next step: plant seeds. From all those magic beans he used to plant, he's got it under his belt!
Once in a while, they'd get a visit from someone. Usually it was Zelda, who is one of their closest friends. She still has feelings for Link, but she's happy for the both of them, and doesn't try to come between them. Usually when she came, she's help around. (She'd actually do more then Link usually does!) One day during the late afternoon, she came running in, and had a very panicked look on her face. By this time, Link and Malon are usually so disoriented so they had no idea what was going on!
"Hiiiiiiiii Zelda!" Link exclaimed, and gave her a hug. "How are youuu?"
"Link, Malon, something terrible happened!!"
"What happened, Zelda?" Malon asked.
"MY COW IS MISSING!!" She screamed, worried as ever. "I woke up this morning, and it was gone!! But the strange thing is, Mother made us sausage... I haven't had that in a while!!" Link and Malon exchanged looks. They figured she's not used to the normal scene after being in the royal castle for so many years. "I'm sure she'll come back, Zelda." Malon told her. She then whispered to Link, "remind me to give her another cow... oh, dear? Could you go call Epona? It's time for her to come back to the ranch!"
"Yes Ma'am!" Link said running off. Little did they know he wouldn't be back for a while...
