One shot plainly to get my butt back into gear...Post Time Bomb 8.23
"Flattery will get you nowhere today." Calleigh said, looking off.
"I know, it'll get take a long time before you trust me again." Eric said, keeping his distance, from Calleigh. The accusation that she didn't trust him made her head snap around and stare at him. "What?" He asked, looking at her.
"Did you just say 'before you trust me again'?" Calleigh asked. "Eric, I trust you," she said putting her hand over his, "But when it comes to working for the DA- I mean, okay, I give up it was your job, but you could have told me. If I haven't followed you, you would have been in the explosion too. I trust you, I just don't want to lose you." She said, adverting her view back into the ocean.
"Calleigh, babe, I'm sorry for I did, but I had to do it as I was told. If I were to have told you, Nevins, would have booted me from the lob. All I was trying to do was protect the lab, find out who was nicking all of this evidence."
"How did Natalia know then?" Calleigh asked a little hurt that after what he told her, he told the truth to Natalia first but not her. "Did you tell her because you didn't trust me?" She asked., removing her hand from his.
"No, I did not tell anyone in my own will expect for H. He knew about it all. Natalia found out, because her hearing aid started working up, and catching the fact I had a wire on me."
"So- "Calleigh began, but Eric interrupted her.
"Cal, if it wasn't for the job, I would have told you earlier." Eric said, warping his arm around her waist.
"How did you find the diamonds in Ryan's stereo then?" Calleigh asked, still a little hurt.
"Stetler told me. But he didn't expect us to catch him, did he? That son of a bitch." Eric said, Calleigh kissing him on the cheek, when she spotted something further along the beach. "What did you see now? You look the same way you looked when you realized that we arrived at Ryan's place."
"Well, if I'm not mistaken…." Calleigh said in a whisper, Eric trying to follow her stare.
"What?" He asked. "And why are you whispering?" He asked, his voice almost a whisper, since he didn't want to follow Calleigh's rule or superstition, which ever it was for her at the moment fully.
"Now, if I'm not mistaken, that looks like Ryan and Natalia taking a walk to the beach."
"WHAT?" Eric exploded, staring at Calleigh in disbelief. "Please explain to me, why Natalia would be walking with Wolfe? I thought she was more into Cardoza." Eric said.
"Well you, you, you're just out of the loop." Calleigh laughed, as she saw Ryan kicking the sand lightly. Eric, also, suddenly showed interest in the current events.
"D- did, I just see that?" He asked, in a whisper when he jumped back from the edge and stared at Calleigh is disbelief, when he saw Natalia pecking Ryan lightly on the cheek.
"Yes. Now, I think its better that we give them their space." Calleigh said as they went torwards Calleigh's car.
Once both of them were buckled up, and Calleigh was turning on the ignition, Eric had a thought.
"Would flattery get me some where now, now that I've told you the truth?" He asked.
"Somewhere, yes. Somewhere, like the couch for example." Calleigh laughed, Eric trying the best to hide his disappointment. "I was just kidding. Maybe it will, may it will not." She said, giving him a wicked smile.
Ha, I couldn't help but add that little R/N bit in there. :) R&R please!
