The Obsidian.
Prologue:
"Destiny. What is destiny? Are we all entwined in destiny, destined for great things? Destiny... If we are destined for great things then we must fulfil our destinies, no matter what they entail."-Evelyn
---------
Destiny, fate, whatever you wish to name it is a universal state, however, if we do not make the path to our destiny clear we may not reach it and that is not what the universe wishes of us. No matter how small a decision seems, it could alter your entire destiny into which everyone is interlinked creating one giant web of 'destiny'.
What the great destiny is, is not for me to say but for you to discover in the world you create. If i did tell you, you would be no more. You cannot sit there thinking your life holds no greatness, being great isn't based on popularity or fame, you would be wrong to think you had no destiny.
Fate leads you in ways that you have no choice, the destiny is yours to manipulate through where fate puts you. Destiny sounds like a gargantuan thing that only the select few have, no, all possess this. Destiny involves suffering, loss, confusion but out of these grows greater achievement, fulfilment and joy at the end...
------------
The ocean appears calm, the warm turquoise sea is piercingly clear, in its continuous motion, back and forth, back and forth, never ceasing till the end. A flash of lightning light breaks from beneath the surface sending this tranquil painting into a frenzied maelstrom. In the maelstrom's centre a black hole begins to appear, oily thick in appearance so nothing can penetrate it, glistening as the maelstrom surrounds it in perpetual motion...Fire! Fire bursts out from its side joining the dance of the maelstrom, just as the fire worms its way around multiple times burning with the passion of countless burning suns, ice. Ice freezes it all over. Just like that without a struggle the fire is prevented from burning, but forced to reside still...until further notice.
The frozen image glistens as we move away revealing its origin, an eye, an eye of great depth...two eyes...A young woman's face staring out of her window looking out at Cira Candra harbour, the only thing of desire to her out of this window.
She has frozen still; she thought she heard a sound; for someone who is never jumpy this one night is making up for the lack of it. As she turns to see if anything is different the moonlight just continues its dance across the room illuminating what it touches, which wouldn't be a lot.
She returns to looking out at the harbour, a large sparse area of grass leading towards it; a galleon drifts in to the docks, in front of the moon wildly altering the moonlight's dance. The mountains in the distance, great silhouettes of the neighbouring islands and the fleeting shadow of freedom.
"Come on..." she muttered, towards the moon, the stars around it teasing as they move into alignment.
Her eyes dart around starting to fear that waiting was no longer an option; if she cannot leave she cannot fulfil her destiny. She does not yet understand the concept of destiny, all she wants is to escape and set out on her journey of redemption and revenge...
