PAST

"Go away!" Seven-year-old Percy cried. This was the second time. The second time Gabe hit him. Little Percy had locked himself from his desperate mother, inside his 'shared' room with the monster his beloved mother married. Percy shifted through the wine bottles, cigarette buds, and whiskey glasses to the Corner, which he called his room. The Corner reeked of alcohol, had faded pastel green wall paper peeling, and several cockroaches nested there, but he was happy to call it a room. A large fake wood desk was perched near the Corner, smothered in papers, stains, and ashtrays, gave cover to Percy's secret spot, where he hid a ruined China stuffed animal of Nemo. Every day after grade school, on the way home, he had searched the sidewalk for stray dollars, coins, pennies, anything he could get his hands on. After several months of scavenging, he'd manage to collect the $4.99 for the stuffed toy. Little Percy grabbed his toy from under the shadows, and sat down on the stained, ashy floor of the Corner. His knees automatically found themselves against his chest, and he hugged them like there was no tomorrow. The red mark on Percy's tear ridden face gave no intention on fading any time soon. He let the waterworks flow out, and he found them somewhat soothing. After what he thought was hours, a click came from across the room, where his mother peeked in cautiously.

"Percy?" Her soft voice came out as a whisper but was loud and clear to the boy. "Are you okay?" After a minute of no reply, she shuffled though the reeking room to his Corner. She gently glided over to him, as if an angel in young Percy's eyes. She sat next to him, as best she could, the Corner almost too small for Percy. "I'm sorry." Her melodic voice rang in his left ear. He moved his head so his eyes met hers, mouth still hidden.

Blue on green, he lifted his skull and let, "Why did you marry him?" slide gracefully out of his mouth.

His mother sighed in content. "Sometimes people change."

PRESENT

"Okay, Annabeth," Piper said from across the small circle. "Truth or dare?"

"Um…" She hesitated. Percy squeezed her hand in reassurance. "Truth because I don't trust you anymore after what you did to Jason." She said warily. Piper chuckled.

"Alright," Piper put a finger to her chin and looked up, imitating thinking. "What was the stupidest thing Percy has ever done?"

Annabeth laughed, "That's a hard one." I glowered at her. She gave an innocent smile back. "I think it would have to be trusting Tyson." Everyone stared at her in mask confusion and shock. Apparently, she wasn't over her Cyclops and Thalia stage.

Percy was outraged at this. After 5 years with this girl, this was his biggest mistake? Not the time he exploded the ice cream shop, or when he got arrested at Walmart, but trusting Tyson?! He got up abruptly.

"I'm sorry." Annabeth whispered, her eyes tearing as he ripped his hand out of hers.

"Sometimes people change." He replied, and walked out of Bunker 7.

The End.

Sorry, Annabeth was a little OOC, and I had problems
