Man did she hate this. She wanted to curl up in a cave and kiss an angry baby porkupine and then die of a.b.p poisoning, metaphorically. She was out of her element, boy was she stupid champ queen. But her heart was having a blast.
Nico gazed at her. '"Hey Mia. What's wrong?'"
Mia twirled on her feet to face the son of Hades. He gazed right back. Everything about him from his soft dark hair to the weird dirt covering his shoes was dark and... AND! ...Angry baby porkupine help her...cool. Breathtaking. Dangerous. Fantastic. Exciting. Refreshing. Different than other people. Mia breathed hard, blushing.
"I don't feel well."
Nick glared through anthracite eyes-he was no Percy Jackson!-. His ghostly complexion made the disappointment pop out forcibly. Mai sweated drachmas and backed up. Nico could be pretty scary.
"Do you feel...do you have feelings-"
"No way! Look who has a high opinion of himself." Mai blasphemed.
"What?" Nico shook his head, murmuring something about crazy girls. Before Mia could disagree, Nico touched Mia's shoulders tilting her forward. Nico bopped his head with hers. "You're not feeling well are you. Your forehead is so hot."
"I'm a hot person." Mia smirked at her joke.
"Yeah, you are pretty hot." Nico replied seriously, checking her temperature with his cool hand. Mia could swear on the river Styx she'd gained three degrees just from Nico's freezing hand.
"Yeah?" Mia beamed, and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"It's not something to be happy about-Hey!" Nico's flesh-peeling glare opened up, "Don't grab me! Weirdo!"
Mia just laughed and let go. "Oh, it's okay for you, but not for me?"
Nico looked at Mia like she was crazy and grabbed her wrist. He started dragging Mia. "Come on. Mr. D can probably fix whatever illness you have."
She bit her lip and looked pained. "I hope not."
Mia tugged so her hand fell into Nico's. His skin was cold and calloused, his grip gentle. If Mia didn't hold onto his hand would he let her hand go? If she resisted would he give up?
