Haruhi sighed softly in exasperation as Tamaki regaled them with his plans for them this summer, shaking her head. Some of them sounded like fun, but she wasn't about to miss out on the trip her father had planned for the two of them, especially since she would get a visit with her favorite cousin out of it. So instead of waiting for him to finish. she decided to speak up during his next pause.
"I already have plans, sempai. My dad and I are going to visit my cousin on ningyo shima." She said bluntly, ruthlessly interrupting him.
"Eh? Mermaid Isle? What's that, Haru-chan?" Hani asked curiously as Tamaki began growing mushrooms in the corner.
"It's a private island off the coast of Okinawa that was developed into a resort of sorts, with rooms available both on the island and amongst the surrounding coral reef. It's most famous for its mermaid population, girls and women hired to live on the island and spend a number of hours each day interacting with guests as quite realistic mermaids." Kyoya intoned nonchalantly, clicking away at his laptops keyboard.
"What he said." Haruhi affirmed, nodding slightly. "My cousin is one of the mermaids there, as was her mother before her. She loves the sea, so this job is perfect for her while she earns her degree in Marine Biology. Even when off duty, she spends most of her time in the water."
"Sounds like a pricy place.." Piped up Hikaru, with Kaoru finishing his thought. "How'd your dad afford it?"
"Ah, well, my cousins dad, my uncle, is the owner, so we've been invited to stay free of charge. They've booked us an undersea room with two double beds and a small kitchenette. My cousin lives in a sort of undersea apartment, attached to those of the other mermaids, on the opposite end of the island."
The next half-hour was spent with the hosts on their cellphones, each making reservations as poor Haruri looked on in exasperation, far too used to such behavior from them and rather vexed that she hadn't realized that they would do this before she opened her big mouth. She sighed despondently, thinking to herself 'This is going to be a looong summer...' as she resigned herself to her fate.

Yes, I know I've been gone for forever, but that's what happens when life catches up to you. I'm planning to start working on this story again, along with Vixen, so hopefully I'll have a few new chapters out soon. Love you guys!
