Ichigo was running through Seireitei watching in terror at everything that the assailants did in there. He met some people on the way, but only asked them where Rukia were. He was too scared for her safety to stay in place if it wasn't necessary. At last he found her. She was kneeling next to Byakuya, who was lying still on the ground in puddle of his own blood. Not far away was lying his dead enemy and Renji was sitting there too, watching Rukia. Ichigo looked at her again. She was shaking, crying silently over Byakuya. And before Ichigo was able to say or do anything, constantly in utter shok, Rukia stood up, slowly approached him and with her head down she grabbed his uniform. She whimpered, then shot her head up, looking at him with rage and yelled: "Where were you? Where were you when nii-san needed your help? It's all your fault! You useless idiot!" she tried to shake him, then hit him, but after a moment he grabbed her wrists, pulled her closer and hugged her tight. She tried to break off his grasp, but the only tightened it.
Then she perceived that her efforts were vain, so she grabbed his clothes again and sobbed loudly in it, as he gently stroked her head with one hand and her back with another. Behind her, Ichigo looked down at her brother and then, questioningly at Renji. The shinigami only shrugged angrily and looked back at his superior, his eyes widened after a moment. Ichigo looked down again and noticed, that Byakuya stirred a bit and frowned, trying to open his eyes.
Kurosaki was shocked for a moment, then quietly said to Rukia "I think, that he will be ok, but we have to take him quickly to the 4th Division". She looked up at him with puzzled expression and blood stained eyes, then down at Byakuya. "Nii-san!" she almost screamed, kneeling by his side again. He looked at her and faintly smiled after a moment, then closed his eyes again. Ichigo also kneeled and with Renji help took the Captain onto his back and with both shinigami flash stepped to 4th Division, hoping for someone's help in there.
