A/N Hello my lovely Gleeks/SMASH fans...or anyone kind enough to read this:) Well this crossover is an idea that I have had in my head for ages now...I am a huge fan of both of these shows and they have their similarities so why not have them cross paths in NYC! This is my first Crossover fic ever and usually I despise them but I think this might work well...I have no idea where this is going and I had no idea how to start so I'm sorry if it is random...well here we go...ENJOY
Disclaimer: I would love to have started something as groundbreaking as Glee and magnificent as SMASH...but Ryan and his yellow hat beat me to it and Theresa Rebeck did as well.
Rachel Berry walked swiftly down the halls of NYADA towards the admissions office. It was only her third week as a Freshman and her first connection to stardom had already popped up and she, being Rachel Barbra Berry, was determined to grasp it. She walked as fast as she could until she finally spotted the bulletin board that read:
STUDENT AUDITIONS FOR BOMBSHELL TOUR
Rachel rolled her eyes at the long line in front of the signup sheet and waited impatiently. She had been reading rumors and gossip about the new Marilyn musical on all the hottest Broadway blogospheres for months. After its hit opening in Boston, it was finally coming to NYC to start its run on Broadway. NYADA was offering the students a chance to go behind the scenes of Bombshell...only if they were talented enough of course.
"We are so lucky to be one of the schools to get to attend their first rehearsal!"
''I heard that Karen Cartwright had no Broadway experience..."
"...That could've been my part."
"If I don't get into this tour I'm never going to live it down..."
Rachel heard multiple upperclassmen and students gossip and comment about the auditions and speculate about Bombshell.
"I can't believe I'm finally breaking into the business!" Rachel stated with her usual drive and enthusiasm.
This statement caught the attention of the students around her who shot her some dirty looks, while others scoffed as if to say they were just as good as her, maybe even better. Rachel felt similar to her status back at Mckinley back in Sophmore Year. A nobody who was waiting for a slushie in the nearest hallway. But now she didn't have Kurt or anyone to back her up...
The line slowly dissipated until she was the only one left at the list. Looking at lines of signatures and names she did not recognize, she filled out the last line:
Rachel Berry
She smiled and nodded to herself. Different list...same name...same gold star. Except this time she knew exactly what was in her future.
You are Rachel Berry and you are booking this audition...and getting into that musical.
So there it is...first chapter/prologue whatever you want to call it. I'm not sure how NYADA will be for Rachel but I wanted to put her back into that "loser" status...:) If you enjoyed, if you hated, PLEASE REVIEW I will only continue if you guys want me to! That means at least 4 positive (I would love for you to include suggestions for the story) reviews... THANKS
