I do not own any characters that you may recognize, only those that I create.
Red Hair and Freckles
Sometimes, all I want to do is dock that Malfoy on the face, without the help of a wand. When that fight came up between my Arthur and that dark side-loving prig, it took me all I had to hold myself in and not jump into the fray. After all, someone had to give the children a good example.
What I do not understand is why they discriminate against my family in this manner. It shouldn't have anything to do with our blood... after all, the Weasley family blood is quite pure, not that it matters to us. My children and their friends are just as capable of magic as the Malfoy heir (although Ronald really does need to bring his potions grade up). As for the lack of money, if only Arthur wasn't overlooked that much when pay raises come around, I am certain that we would be better off. Raising seven children on what little my husband makes at the Ministry is, after all, no joke. We may have second-hand school supplies, clothes and a house held up by magic, but I make it a point to give my children all that they really need (not necessarily what they want) even if it means that Arthur and I have to go without.
So what, what gives the Malfoys and other high-and-mighty families the right to go after us? Could it be that since we have no money we must also have no dignity? Am I a lesser example of a mother just because I do the housework myself instead of relying on a house elf? (I must admit that having one would be useful...) I don't think so.
Does money make that much of a difference between my family and others? My husband and children seem to think it does. Poor things, they have gone through some tough moments because of this. So we are poor. Poor enough for that ferret to make fun of my Ginny's school books and robes. Does that really matter? Could it be that because we have no money our children are not well treated and our marriage is unhappy?
No. That is not true. I am ready to bet half my husband's income that the Malfoy's are not happier that we are. Why, Narcissa and Lucius barely even touch each other, much less give poor Draco the affection he needs. Instead, they choose to compensate it by flashing their money every which way and showering the kid with expensive presents that simply cannot do the trick. It must be terrible to live in a world where trickery and politics are the main part of life. Arthur and the children may think differently, but I know better: although we do not have much money and we certainly have not the prestige of some other wizarding families, we have something that is much more valuable: love.
A/N: I know that this is short. Please, tell me what you think! It's not that difficult...
