Crying alone in her room, Luka stared at the mirror. How could they have said those things? She'd do anything to get them to love her, to accept her into their family. "I can help," her reflection spoke. Luka screamed, backing away from the mirror. I'm going mad, she thought. Even as she thought it her reflection's eyes turned red, and looked at her with such an evil, sickening smile that Luka recoiled further. Could it be a demon? "Come child…We both know what you want. You want love. I can help with that," the creature spoke. Luka was certain now that this was no longer her reflection. Am I dreaming? Hallucinating? "W-what are you? Who are you?"

"I am Venomania, the snake, always prepared to strike, to use any means to get what is desired." The demon spoke with a voice that gave Luka chills. "You want it, don't you? You desire something."

"Yes," Luka said, "But I will not have it from you. You know nothing of me! How can you give me what I want?"

"Let me show you. Touch the mirror," the creature said, and as it said so it began once again to reflect Luka's movements. Luka extended her arm, unaware of what she was doing.

The moment her fingertips met the monster's, Luka knew it was wrong. The mirror was not cold, as glass usually is, but scorching hot. She yelled in pain and attempted to remove her fingers from the burning glass, but they would not move backward, they seemed fused to the mirror, as though they were a passageway from the mirror to her own world, and the monster was coming through and invading her body, taking over, and Luka lost control.

Luka was trapped inside her own body, fighting for control. She found herself awake in bed, and looking at her hand, a black tattoo had wrapped itself around her arm and hand. Looking at her leg, which she found was bare, she realized that it wrapped all the way from her toes all the way up to her neck and on her face. She turned to look next to her, and saw Meiko lying there. Strange, she thought, and then again lost her mind to the monster.

Suddenly there was a piercing pain in her chest, and blood running down her front. Luka let out a cry, and looked down at her wound, out of which her blood spewed freely. Then something black joined the blood, and the tattoos and markings on her body left with them – the monster, the demon, left her dying body, and Luka collapsed to the floor.

She awoke with her hand on the mirror in her bedroom. A nightmare, thought Luka, and she looked at the mirror.

It was broken.
