Always smiling...

Even in a place like this that young boy with those big honey gold eyes was still always smiling.

How? It confused Gilbert to no end. 'I'm not even one of the prisoners and I don't like it here.' He wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for his brother, Ludwig, not that he spited him because of it, he was his little brother, he couldn't help but love family. He wouldn't be alive either if it wasn't for Ludwig. Some of the Nazis wanted to kill him because of his pure white hair and bright red eyes, but he was still alive due to his and his brother's high status, not that that group didn't still whisper about him now and then.

Ludwig had been the one that found the odd, smiling, boy and his brother. They were in a forest curled up together in a crate. They tried to run, but of course were captured.

Gilbert had been the one that unloaded the train they were on. It was always a horrible task. The train reeked of blood, puke, piss... Despair... Death... And it was always full of miserable, worn down faces. Of course, it was the same as usual, yet... Completely different...

The soft lullaby could be heard from outside the box car door, provoking Gilbert's interest. He peeked inside through one of the tiny windows provided for the passengers. Inside the younger brunette was cradling young girl, who probably couldn't have been any older than eleven, stroking her black hair and singing to her. Singing her to sleep... And looking closer Gilbert realized, to death...

People were standing around them, but keeping their distance, the only three in the middle being the two brothers and the young girl, suggesting that the girl's family wasn't there. Not a rare occurrence really.

Gilbert watched the scene a bit longer before steeping away from the small window, clearing his throat, and opening the car door.

The passengers jumped at the loud sound of the door sliding open. They dispersed from their circle and many scrambled towards the far side of the car.

But the brothers held their place.

They stared at Gilbert for a minute, scared, but putting up a brave front for the others. The elder brother broke eye contact first, kneeling down next to the younger. But Gilbert wasn't staring at him. He was looking straight into startled, amber eyes.

"Feliciano..." The darker haired brother mumbled, quietly, breaking the trance between Gilbert and... Feliciano...
