Hopefully better than my other character study ... Review Please :3
Itachi sometimes in his rare idle moments wondered how it had come to this. But these thoughts were purely scientific in nature. After all he had no emotional attachments. He was Uchiha Itachi after all. Weapons don't have feelings…or at least they're not supposed to.

Itachi looks down at his fallen comrade. His only comrade. Shisui glanced up at him unseeingly out of dull lifeless grey eyes. Itachi bows his head in respect for his cousin. He kneels and closes Shisui's eyes with his index finger. It's the least he can do. After all Shisui understands. When you're a prodigy -a tool for others- you're life is not your own. Itachi closes his eyes and clenches his fists. A single tear falls down his cheek. His last shred of humanity would be left by the bridge that day. Only fitting now that a demon has taken residence in his soul. A demon known as the Mangekyou Sharingan.

Itachi is silent and unresponsive as the police question him about Shisui's death. The police are disgusted. How can someone show no signs of mourning? Of remorse? Uchiha Mikoto looks at her beloved eldest son with worry. Shisui was his big brother. His only true friend. What effect will this have on him? Itachi excuses himself without eating a bite of dinner. Uchiha Fugaku is worried that Itachi may be contemplate suicide. Uchiha Sasuke is confused and afraid. He has never seen his beloved nii-san so upset.

Itachi stares ahead unseeingly as his body grows accustomed to the new influx of power within him. Tools have no feelings. They have no priorities. Tools do not mourn their best friends. Tools best friends are death.

Uchiha Itachi closed his eyes and sighed. In a little over an hour he had killed his entire clan. He had never felt so free or so capable. Uchiha Itachi had granted Uchiha Sauske a favor. By declaring the child wasn't even worth killing he had given him a reason to live maybe to prove him wrong. Itachi walked away from Konoha without looking back clutching his hit-aite tightly in his fist. He stood illuminated in the moonlight like some ghost of long forgotten times. Itachi had broken his bonds and proven he was no one's tool but still…he wondered secretly was it worth it?

He had only to look at Sasuke and know it was.
