He stirs his straw idly around in his glass and tries, but fails, not to consider this moment that's making him beam with more happiness than he's felt in quite possibly his entire lifetime. Clark's prattling on about schoolwork and farm work, and although Lex isn't completely sure of what he's saying, he's enjoying watching the merry light in his adorable, blue eyes and the way his charming lips twist with a smile in between words. "Clark?" he speaks suddenly, reaching out over the table and taking his boyfriend's hand in his.

Clark blinks, surprised at the sudden interruption and the urgency in Lex's voice.
"Yes?"

"Thank you." Lex beams.

"For what? For the milkshake?"

"No." Lex almost laughs. "Yes. For that," his voice drops to a whisper, "and for everything." He never knew sharing milkshakes could make him so happy, but then, everything this incredible, young man does makes his heart glow. He leans forward and kisses his sweet lover on his young, supple lips. Clark blushes but doesn't take his eyes from his. Soon, their milkshakes are finished, and they're completing their perfect evening with Clark flying them both through the setting sun and to his parents' farm where surely more bliss will follow.
