Hi all! This is my first fic in a really long time. I hope it's okay. Sorry in advance for any grammatical errors. I'm not sure how long this puppy of a fic will be but I'll going to try and make it as good as possible! I don't own LoK. I'm just mildly obsessed with it.

"Korra sweetie are you ready to go?" called Korra's mother.

"I'll be down in a minute mom!" Korra called back.

"Alrighty. Don't be too long though. The drive today is going to be pretty long. We don't want to get to our hotel in the middle of the night. Your father and I will be out in the car."

"Okie doke." Korra listened for the sound of her front door shutting. Once the sound hit her ears she let out a long sigh and flopped onto her bed. Goodbye bed. She turned her head over to the shelves. Goodbye trophies. Goodbye medals. She looked around her room some more. Goodbye posters. Goodbye desk. Goodbye TV. Her eyes froze. "Goodbye Bud." She said aloud. Korra sat up and took a hold of Bud. She gave him a good squeeze. "I'm sorry I'm not taking you. I just don't want to be the weird girl in the dorm that brought a kid's thing. You understand right?" Bud was her first best friend. A cabbage patch kid. Yes a boy cabbage patch kid. Her parents said he was the only one they could find that looked like her. But she didn't care. He had been through a lot with her. She gave him one last hug and put him on the bed. As she walked away she felt a ting of guilt for leaving him all by his lonesome, so she grabbed a few other stuffed animals and put them on the bed with him. "There you go Bud. Now you won't be lonely." She quickly turned away feeling silly for getting emotional. As she reached her door she turned around. "I'll see at Thanksgiving room." And with that she shut her door and headed to the car.

After two days of driving – plus a ferry ride - Korra and her parents drove up onto the campus of Republic University. Korra had fallen asleep. Her parents looked back on her and smiled.

"I know she's leaving to nest but I still see my sweet little girl." Tonraq whispered.

"Yes. She still has the same angelic sleeping face she's had since she was a baby." Senna whispered back. Korra's mouth was open wide, hair sprawled across her face, and she was not so softly snoring. They chuckled softly to each other. Senna reached back and patted Korra's leg. "Korra, we're here. Time to wake up." Her eyes flicked open.

"Already?" Korra questioned as she stretched and absentmindedly wiped droll from her cheek. "How long have I been asleep?"

"Well you started snoring about an hour ago." Her father teased.

"Oh great. I'm gonna snore and my roommate is going to hate me." Korra groaned and started to lightly smack her head on her mother's head rest.

"Korra sweetie. That is no reason for snoring to be a reason for your roommate to hate you." Senna said while putting her hand back and pushing Korra way from her head rest.

"Yeah there are a million other things your roommate could hate you for." Her father started.

"Tonraq!" Senna scolded smacking his arm.

"What? I was just joking." Tonraq looked back at his anxious daughter in the rearview mirror and gave her a wink. "Your roommate is going to love you. It's impossible to hate anything about you Korra."

"I hope so." Korra sighed sinking into her seat.

"Hey there's your dorm!" Her father chimed in. "Let's get you all checked in, unpacked, and settled in!"

Thanks for reading! Please leave a review if you wish! I'll hopefully be able to update once or twice (probably once) a week. Have a wonderful night or day!
