Hello! I have made another Yami X Yugi fanfiction! And it has nothing to do with the song Whispers in the Dark! I thought that I made up the title myself, but I guess I didn't. But anyway, please enjoy, everyone! This is a one shot!
Sirens wailed as the lights of the ambulance got dimmer and dimmer as they drove away. That night, a teenage boy had, around sixteen years old, had been shoved out of a third story window. He had fallen to the ground, and luckily not to his death. Someone had called an ambulance, and the young teen was rushed to the hospital. There, the hospital notified the teen's grandfather, his guardian, Soloman Muto. Soloman told the hospital that the teen's name was Yugi. Soloman had then called all of Yugi's closest friends. Yami was the first to get the call and he was the first to get there.
Yami slammed open the doors to the hospital and rushed down the hallway. No, Aibou, don't die! Yami thought as he turned down another hallway. Yugi's grandpa was sitting outside the room with his face in his hands. Doctors rushed in and out of the room frantically.
"Where's Yugi?" Yami asked Mr. Muto.
Yugi's grandpa pointed to the room. Before Yami could go into the room, the doctors came out. One of them walked over to Yami and Soloman.
"Mr. Muto," the doctor said, "I am very sorry to say this, but your grandson is in critical condition and he has fallen into a coma. There is nothing else that we can do, and there is a fifteen percent chance that he will never wake up. I'm so sorry."
Yami's grandpa was shocked by the news.
"Can I go see him?" Yami pleaded.
"Who are you?" the doctor asked.
"His best friend," Yami replied.
"Fine," the doctor replied, letting Yami into the room.
Yami walked into the room slowly. He saw Yugi lying in the bed, with tubes connected into him to sustain his life. The faint "Beep. Beep." Of the heart rate monitor was the only thing to show that Yugi was still alive. Yami rushed to Yugi's side, after closing the door behind himself. Yami clutched Yugi's hand.
"Oh Yugi, my Aibou, why did this happen?" Yami sobbed. Tears flowed from Yami's eyes as he continued, clutching Yugi's hand tighter, "Yugi, I never even got the chance to tell you how I really feel, how I really feel for you. But Yugi, my Aibou, if you can hear me, come back to me. Yugi, I . . . I love you. I love you with all of my heart and I couldn't live without you! Please come back to me, my Yugi, my Aibou, my lover!"
Yami watched Yugi for a little bit. His tears started to dry. Suddenly, Yugi's fingers wrapped around Yami's hand. Yami gasped. Yugi opened his eyes slowly.
"Really?" Yugi whispered. "Do . . . you really . . . mean it?"
"I do," Yami said, kissing Yugi genially on the cheek. "I will never let you go, Yugi. I will never stop loving you."
Yugi's heart rate monitor started beeping louder and more often.
"Yami . . . don't worry . . ." Yugi was breathing hard, trying to finish his sentence. "I won't . . . die. I . . . can't . . . leave you . . . . Don't . . . worry."
With that last word, Yugi fell asleep as the rest of his friends and his grandpa raced into the room. Tears of joy fell from Yami's eyes as he forced a smile.
"Everything's going to be okay," Yami whispered. "Yugi, I'll wait for you forever. I promise."
