The envelope was there on the table, "Daddy" written in a child-like scrawl. His heart swelled with an indescribable feeling. He opened the envelope and saw a Father's Day card from his son. No doubt his wife had bought the card and signed it. The baby was three months old, he wasn't self-aware yet, so, yes, it was Rose that bought the card, signed and placed it here. It didn't matter. His heart (one, not two) felt like it would pop out of his chest with something he couldn't describe. He went into his son's room and watched him sleep.
