"Goodnight, Lieutenant Hawkeye."
"Goodnight, Kain. I'll see you tomorrow." I stepped outside and closed the door behind me. The cold air stung my face. The thought of going home and crawling into bed seemed sweeter with every passing moment.
I have been given
One moment from heaven
As I am walking
Surrounded by night
Stars high above me
Make a wish under moonlight
It was a quiet night. It would be a good time to walk Black Hayate if it wasn't so cold. I looked around and saw something flicker out of the corner of my eye. It was a shooting star. I held my breath and made a wish.
On my way home
I remember only good days
On my way home
I remember all the best days
And on my way home
I can remember every new day
As I walked on toward my hopefully warm house my mind wandered to some of the better days. I thought of Colonel Mustang and everyone else. The memories flooded into my mind and I smiled. They could all be so stupid, but thats why they're funny half of the time.
I move in silence
With each step taken
Snow falling round me
Like angels in flight
I was drawn out of my thoughts by something cold and wet grazing my nose. I looked up and saw white flecks falling around me. It was snowing! I had a sudden urge to run run around and try to catch snow my tongue as I had when I was a child. But I refrained from doing so. I was a twenty-five year old woman after all. I shouldn't do such childish things. Well not in public anyway.
Far in the distance
Is my wish under moonlight
(or in this case: streetlight)
Once again my attention was directed to something else. There was someone standing underneath the streetlight just ahead of me. It was Mustang. I walked up to him and said:
"Goodeneving, Sir."
He looked up and replied, "Goodevening, Lieutenant."
"It's cold out, isn't it, sir?"
"Yes it is. Should we find someplace warm?"
"Yes we should, sir."
Mustang laughed. "So where to, Riza?"
I smiled. "Come now, Roy. I picked last time, it's your turn."
"Alright then." He thought a moment then said, "I know, how about that cafe down the road? They're supposed to have really good coffee."
"Ok. Lets go before it gets any colder." My hand found it's way into his and I pulled him down the side walk.
"I'm coming. Don't pull my arm off."
And so we walked down the sidewalk, fingers intertwined.
On my way home
I remember only good days
On my way home
I remember all the best days
On my way home
I can remember every new day
