Chapter 1: Magic of Survival
Summary: When the Potters die, Sirius takes Harry and teaches him the Magic of Manipulation

A man walks through the streets of a small village called Hodri's Hollow. The man is tall and his face is white, barely concealed behind the shadow of the cloak he bears. His eyes were an unnatural kind of red, the kind only seen in movies or stories. His nose is two slits in the middle of his face. He walks with poise and elegance. Like he assumes he is better than everyone else. A small boy walks up to the man.
"Nice costume mister." The boy says happily.
The man looks down at the boy and the boys eyes grow wide with fear. The boy runs away, most likely to tell his mother of the scary man he saw. The man watches the boy run away and repeats a mantra in his head.
'No witnesses.'
The man fires a bright green light in the direction of the boy from a white stick. He waits for the dull thud of the boys fallen body before walking towards a small cottage at the end of the lane. There is a small almost transport dome around the house. The man bends down to look at the perimeter of the dome.
"Ah.." He says in a soft but chillingly cold voice. "Concealment ward, Notice-me-not charm and... Oh, what's this? A ward to allow the old goat when I arrive."
As the man lists off all the wards around the home, he notices a weak link. There is a portion where the notice-me-not mixed with the alert ward. The man takes down the notice-me-not and the alert ward falls too. The man crosses the ward line and enters the front lawn undetected. He walks in and blows down the door. He hears a woman's scream and a man's voice shout.
"Take Harry and run Lily."
"You are a fool James Potter." The man says in his cold voice. "You are fighting for the wrong side, the old goat is manipulating you."
"I will never betray the order or Dumbledoor. Voldemort!" James shouts.
"THEN DIE" Voldemort shouts as a bright green light flies out of his wand and hits James in the chest. Voldemort steps over the body and continues up the stairs. He sees Lily Potter standing over her child pathetically.
"Please don't kill Harry take me instead." Lily cries.
"Stand aside silly girl." Voldemort replies.
Lily refuses to move and meets the same fate as her husband. Voldemort steps up to cot that the baby is in. He reaches out and feels the power the baby who was supposed to defeat him held. He raised his wand when he saw a green light come out of nowhere. He just noticed it and his vision went black. Sirius Black stepped out of the shadows and stared at Voldemort's dead body. He transfigures it into dust and walks over to Harry, makes sure he isn't hurt and vanishes. Everyone finds out that Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort and he became famous. What Sirius didn't notice was the lightning bolt scar on Harry's forehead.
