A/N: This is just a short little one-shot I have made for the holiday seasons…I am not going to mention any holidays because I don't want to offend any one by not using their particular holiday, so to avoid all this I just won't mention it at all. I have always loved the snow. I think it's because of the way it reminds me of purity…the purity I lost the day I signed my life over to the village, vowing to do anything to protect it…even if that meant taking that of another's life.
I looked up at the sky and watched as the snow fell in a gentle and endless torrent of white fluff. A blanket of snow was already covering the cold ground beneath my feet.
I allowed a small, pleasant smile to grace my face briefly as I watched the white powder fall around me. I was standing in the middle of the training field so everywhere I looked it was just an endless area of white.
I also think I like the snow because of its coldness. The coldness of it will sometimes make me forget everything around me, making me feel numb and immune to the world.
Sometimes I feel as if the world is moving in a blur around me…and the cold will bring me back to reality, making me remember everything like who I am, or more like what I am and why I can't be like the snow anymore…why I can't be pure and am tainted by the blood that I have spilt from so many innocent lives.
I think this is why I like winter so much, because the snow will always remain so pure while I will forever be tainted by my sins. Why I like the cold because it makes me feel numb so that maybe I can forget about being tainted for just a few precious moments.
I can never be pure again, this I know and I accept it. But during the winter I can pretend I am…
"yes" I think.
This is why winter is so special to me, because it let's me pretend that I am pure again just like the know.
