The Day That I Fly

This is based on Good Charlotte's "The Day that I Die." In this song, a young Wedge Antilles prepares to leave his home planet of Correllia to join the Rebellion as a fighter pilot.

One day I woke up, I woke up knowing today is the day I will fly. Syal was jogging, walked to space park and enjoyed it one last time. Lunch with my mother, told her I loved her, and begged her not to cry. Wrote Dad a letter, said I'd miss him, and I signed that good-bye.

You know the happiest day of my life, I swear the happiest day of my life is the day that I fly. Can you feel the pre-flight nerves? They set in, but it's all right. My canopy falls; I'm lifting off. I'm all alone, but with my squad. We took a run, and she called me Veggie, just like my childhood friends. Long conversations, we talked of X-wings, and all the things we did. Correllian nights, blaster fights mistakes we made. (Did I do this sim right?)
You know the happiest day of my life, I swear the happiest day of my life is the day that I fly. Can you feel the pre-flight nerves? They set in, but it's all right. My canopy falls; I'm lifting off. I'm all alone, but with my squad. (Repeat) Did I do this sim right? I hope I did this sim right. I know I did this sim right.
