Chapter 1: Prelude
BANG, a military issue cannonball crashes onto the bridge of the Delphinus, puncturing a metre wide hole in its metallic hull.
"Warning, hull breach. Warning, de-pressurisation imminent" the ship computer says
"What's happened, is anyone hurt?" Vyse asks as he returned from fighting some invaders of the ship.
"Vyse, we have got another ship on port side, we can't take them!" Aika remarks.
Vyse, not one for running away, brushes the suggestion aside.
"We have to, if they get to Nasr, they will destroy everything on this world!"
Vyse takes the wheel, as he does though, another, smaller cannonball hits the rear of the ship, once he gets back on his feet, Vyse turns hard to port, toward the 3 ships attacking them.
"Ready the Moon Stone Cannon, we need to take them down!"
"But Vyse, the vibrations may destroy the Delphinus, we can't risk that chance!"
"We have to Aika! We cannot let Valua get their hands on the Crystals!"
Aika, reluctantly moves toward the silver plated controls for the Moon Stone Cannon and slowly pulls a lever and pushes a button.
"Moon Stone Cannon charging" the ship's computer informs.
"10%"
The Valuan ships turn toward the Delphinus.
"20%, 30%"
Vyse notaces that one of the ships has a Harpoon Cannon, and that they are starting to charge it.
"40%, 50%, 60%"
As the Moon Stone Cannon reaches about 65%, the Harpoon Cannon was ready to fire.
"EVERYONE GET DOWN!" Vyse shouts.
The Harpoon Cannon starts to fire, but an unknown plasma bolt hits the stern of the ship and knocks it off course and the Harpoon Cannon misses the Delphinus.
"HONK HONK" goes the unknown ship.
"Hey, you guys get to a dock." says what only can be guessed as the ships captain "We got this"
"Agreed, thanks by the way, who are you?" Vyse asks, spinning the wheel to turn away from the ships.
"We're the ...(static)..." the radio cuts off just before they say their name.
Suddenly, Vyse notaces a very large cannonball heading strait for their engines.
"Oh no" Vyse thinks as he blacks out.
