Title: Every Writer Needs a Muse
Pairing: Lindsey Centric - Lindsey/Lucas/Peyton
Warnings/Spoilers: None
Author Note: I'm not a Lindsey or a Lindsey/Lucas fan. But I also don't really believe in bashing another pairing. Also it takes place during the second half of Season 5.
Disclaimer: I don't own One Tree Hill
As an editor, she has always held the strong belief that writers have muses.
Not necessary in the sense of a mythical Greek being, but more in the sense of an individual, or a situation. For her, being somebody's muse, was a form of flattery, a type of love.
So when he started to write again, after having three years of writer block, there was a part of her that was suspicious. After all, it had been around the same time Peyton Sawyer came back into town.
His ex-girlfriend, the person he promised to love forever, or at least that was what he claimed in his book. Personally she did feel a bit threaten by Peyton, and her reappearance. Fearing that Lucas was still in love with her, and to some degree she was right.
After all, his new book was proof that he was still in love with her. While the format may have changed, and the story wasn't in the same literal sense as his first book. She couldn't deny the fact it was pretty much about longing, and waiting. The boy was waiting for the comet to reappear in his life again. For Lucas, his comet came in the form of Peyton Sawyer.
She only wishes she knew that ages ago, instead of finding out on her wedding day. It mostly happened by accident, not because Lucas admitted the truth to her or she caught him cheating on her. Instead, she realized that Peyton drove a Comet, and remembered how Lucas and Peyton met all those years ago.
She only wished she listened to her instincts beforehand, instead of saying yes to his proposal.
Because now, she realized that he was hiding his heart, and is still hiding his heart by fighting for her.
Even though, she is somewhat flattered that Lucas was fighting for her, but she isn't a fool it wouldn't change the fact, he pretty much wrote two love stories to Peyton Sawyer.
After all, every writer needs a muse, and for Lucas Scott his muse is in the form of Peyton Sawyer.
