Chapter One: The Mission

"C'mon, we gotta hurry. If they get back before we're done..." Severus Snape sighed. 'Merlin, these people are idiots. They act like they've never been on a mission before. Honestly! What does it take to get the job done these days?'

"Jugson!" Severus Snapped. "You go check the master bedroom. Morrison! You check the dining room and the kitchen. Merlin knows only a fool would leave information like that out in the open, but what can I say, this is James Potter we're talking about. No one ever accused him of having a brain."

"Where are you going, then?" Jerod Morrison asked with suspicion.

"To his office, you moron, now get moving! We don't have all night!" Severus growled. 'Why on earth am I stuck with these fools?' Sighing, Severus made his way upstairs, searching for the office. 'Must be my lucky day', he thougt as he found it on his first try. 'Hmm...let's see...Potter wouldn't leave a first class top secret spell just laying around on his desk or in a drawer. A safe, maybe? No, too obvious. Besides, it'd take all night to crack the security spells on it. Drat you, Tom, why do you insist of sending me on the most ridiculous missions? It's not like we could have hoped to find what we were looking for. Besides, does it really matter if-'

"What the hell!" Jugson yelled from down the hall. "The game can't be over that soon!"

'Oh shit!' Severus thought. 'They must be home already!' He muttered a hurried 'nox' to douse his wand's light. 'Now if only I can get down the stairs to apparate...Uh oh. Too late...' He frantically lokked for an escape as the door opened. 'Maybe it's not my lucky night after all...'

Lily Evans Potter had had enough. Who was James to tell her what she could and couldn't do! If she wanted to stay home instead of going to the damn quidditch game she had bloody well be able to! 'Death Eaters my ass', she thought, 'There's no such damn thing! It's just some stupid lie Dumbledore concocted to get people to hear joining jis enemies! You know what, screw this! I'm not gonna sit here like some good little trophy wife watching some stupid game of quidditch. If James doesn't like it, well too bad! I don't give a damn what he thinks anymore! I'm leaving!' With a scowl, Lily got up from where she was sitting in the top box of the quidditch stands and apparated to the Potter manor.

'That's weird', she thought as she climbed the stairs. 'I could've sworn James turned his office light off before he left. Oh well, I'll just have to shut it off myself.' Sighing, she opened the door.

A/N: Well, there's my first chapter. I don't know whether I'll continue or not. Please review telling me what you think of it and if I should continue it! Thanks, Casey-Calli.
