"I don't know if you're asleep or not, but I need to tell you that I know you're doing what you think is right," I hear Danny say from behind me in the room. What is he talking about? I keep my head down and listen, he might not tell me what he's saying if he thinks I'm awake.

"You're going to do something bad, and that's ok. I know that you don't know the truth and I'm sorry that I've been lying to you for so long. I hold no hard feelings. I know you don't know what I'm talking about, but you will." What has he been lying about? What did I do?

"Jazz will probably hate you for awhile. You'll probably hate yourself, but I was never mad. These next few weeks, they're going to be tough, but we'll get through it, together. It's going to end badly, but it'll be ok. We'll be ok even if you think I won't be. At the end of the month, someone will die. Don't blame yourself, I don't." Who's going to die? I hear him walk around behind me.

"I look up to you, mom. You're a genius. Look at all this stuff you've made. You're going to change the world, and I will, too." He picks something up.

"You're technology, it's so advanced. It's just used first the wrong things, and that's ok, because you're right. Some ghosts are bad, but others aren't." He sets whatever he picked up down.

"Phantom isn't the bad guy. I know you won't understand that until it's too late, and that's ok. You don't have to. I know why you think he's bad, and that's enough. You thought you were protecting me, so I can't be mad." He walks over to me. I can feel his presence behind me, but it doesn't feel like it's MY Danny. Something feels off.

"If you can hear me, I'm sure you're wondering what I'm talking about, but I'm not allowed to tell you. I could barely talk him into sending me back here. I just... I had to see you one last time." What is he talking about? Is he running away? Did he get into some trouble?

"I love you. Goodbye. Please don't be mad."

"Danny I-" He's not there. I run upstairs and find him asleep in his bed. Did I dream that he was talking to me?

*in the Ghost Zone*

"Thank you, Clockwork." Danny hands the time amulet to Clockwork, but he looks different. His uniform is casual and he has a black streak in his hair.

"Why did you want to see the person who killed you?" Clockwork asks.

"She didn't know."

"Very well. Come along, I have a task for you."
