I'll admit it. I'm actually not an Iggy person. I mean, I love the bind pyromaniac... but he's not my favorite. ;)

So why am I writing about him? I really don't know. This is my second Iggy story... I need to have a chat with my idea-maker.

Summary: Iggy thinks about what he thinks of Max, and what she is to him. A family-type fic. Slight Eggy, no Miggy.

Sure, Iggy made jokes about his blindness. He would laugh about it, and the others thought that he didn't care. The truth was, he cared more about it than anything else in the world.

Because Iggy couldn't see, he would never be able to support himself. He would always need someone to rely on.

His entire life, that person had been Max.

Max, who would sometime act like a mom. Iggy could remember the first storm they had at the E-shaped house.

Lightening cracked across the sky, lighting up the mountains. Angel, Gazzy, and Nudge ran into Max's room, scared that the lightening would hit them. Iggy and Fang followed, simply to see what was going on.

As Angel whimpered, Max stroked her head. "Shh," she said, "It'll be okay. Lightening can't hurt us. Storms can't hurt us."

Nudge wasn't so sure. "But-" she started to ask.

"Lightening won't hurt us. Lightening won't hurt people who can fly. It would be like the ocean drowning a fish."

Consoled, Nudge laid her head on Max's lap and fell asleep, Gazzy and Angel soon following her.

Iggy, looking back on that day, realized how much Max had really done. The storm had really been awful, and even he was scared for a moment that lightening would hit the house. Max had comforted him, too.

In some ways, Max was his friend.

"Hey, Max. You know Ella...um, your sister?"

"Yeah?" Max said, lounging out on the couch.

"Do you think she likes me?"

"Ella? Iggy! Of course she does! Have you noticed how she trips over something whenever she sees you?"

Iggy was surprised. He didn't think Max knew anything about that.

"Really?"

"Of course! Now, we need to get the two of you together somehow. How do you feel about going out to..."

Yes, Iggy thought, smiling to himself, Max had surprised him that day.

Sometimes, Max was nothing but a sister.

"LOOK OUT!" Gazzy screamed. "SHE'S COMING!"

Max ran into the yard, carrying a water gun. She pulled the trigger, and water sprayed all over Iggy.

"MAX!" He screamed, and threw his water balloons at her. "Now, Fang!"

Fang snuck out from behind her, and threw a bucket of water over Max.

"NO!" She screamed, in a very un-Max way. "Angel! Nudge! Ella! Get them!"

Even now, Iggy laughed when he remembered that day. They had all ended up soaking wet, but had a great time.

Max would fill almost every role for Iggy. She was his friend, his sister, his comforter.

The one thing Max wasn't was his girlfriend.

But he didn't need her for that.

Iggy had Ella, his perfect match.

That was...different from what I thought it would be.
