A touch of destiny
"I was chosen! Me! Above all others!"
Because it was my destiny. It is my destiny.
"I'm going to tell you something others have only guessed at. I am the Chosen One."
Because I had to. Only me. It could only be me.
"You can't help me!"
Because I don't have any other option.
"I'm going after the Horcruxes. I'll write to you and Ron as often as I can to let you know how I'm doing."
Because I can't let anyone get hurt. Not my family, not my friends, not even a stranger. No one. It's the only way.
"If I don't, he'll kill me."
Because I'm scared. I'm scared, and I'm alone. This all feels so wrong. But it's okay, because I was chosen. I was meant to do this. In the end, it has to be okay.
The white bird was dead, silent and still against the wood, helpless in the face of what fate had in store for it.
Because I was chosen.
And the black bird cried out night after night, but it would always be so desperately alone.
Right?
