"I love you." His words took me by surprise, my heart already pounding from dancing. I stepped back, my sneaker stomping on someone's bare toes.
"Sorry." I stumbled forward, apologizing to the stranger behind me who had whimpered in pain. "Brian…" I didn't know what to say. I shook my head and walked away from him, hoping he wouldn't follow me to get a drink. Gulping down mini cup-full's of water, I started to catch my breath. My side cramp started to subside; I knew it would return to being a nuisance soon. I sighed, I love you too Brian.
